Intermediate Floral Design

This class is for the student with previous experience with floral products and basic arrangement composition with the color wheel. The course covers the correct terminology for today’s floral industry, teaching students proper classification techniques by considering line, form, mass and filler material. Students will learn proper balance, symmetry, proportion, and scale of arrangements. Rhyme and harmony are incorporated into the curriculum as well as important composition elements such as depth and focal points. Hands-on construction of funeral, wedding, and special holiday arrangements will be key lessons in this session. Various styling techniques for vase and modern arrangements will be covered including: triangular, round, centerpiece, European, and Oriental. Upon completion of class, students will be better prepared for work in a shop or as an independent floral designer.
